How My Journey Began
Vina Parmar, MBA, featured here in Sacramento Magazine, started Awakening Creative Arts in 2005. After graduating from CSU Sacramento, she worked successfully for corporate, government and small businesses. As Marketing Director of East West Bookstore in Sacramento, California, for five years, she oversaw and taught many successful events and workshops.
Vina has been teaching workshops on awakening creativity and self-empowerment for 20+ years, and offers private sessions on Ancestral Healing Family Constellations, and Clinical Hypnotherapy.
Also a meditation instructor approved by Amma, popularly known as "The Hugging Saint," Vina has trained thousands of students across North America, and conducted annual training retreats for meditation instructors.

I am grateful to be supported by life, and to live my passion. It hasn't always been this way.
After working for some years in the corporate world, and for government, I was injured on the job, and went back to finish my Masters Degree in Business, and to rehabilitate and regroup. During that time, in the year 2000, I came acrossThe Artist's Way, A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity 12-week course, based on the book by Julia Cameron. Little did I know it would change my life and help me find my path. I went on to offer this, and many other self-empowerment courses, as I too, walked the creative path.
I love my work, and I continue to evolve and grow. I am continuously studying and upgrading my knowledge so that I can bring new research, resources, trainings and certifications to serve my clients. Here are some of my endeavors:

2014: Bert Hellinger, Family Constellations Facilitator and Trainer: As a professionally certified Family Constellation Facilitator, Vina offers private and group sessions to help people overcome difficult life challenges and attain peace, healing and balance.

Certified Mandala Healing Art Facilitator & Trainer
2006: Mandala Art Facilitator and Trainer: As a Certified Mandala Healing Facilitator and Trainer with Judith Cornell, Ph.D., Vina helps workshop participants tap into inspired creativity to bring about transformation at the mental, emotional, spiritual and physical levels.
Vina co-facilitated the Circles for Healing: Mandala Facilitation Training in 2008 conducted to 50 healthcare professionals from around the world.
Vina has offered Mandala Healing Art programs to: Inmates at Folsom Prison, Arts In Corrections Program; Women in addiction recovery, Mercy Perinatal Recovery Center; Sacramento City College, Annual Staff Retreat; St. Joseph's Cancer Recovery Center; and many local organizations listed below.
IAM Meditation Instructor, Regional Coordinator & Trainer
2006-date: Vina is personally approved by Amma to teach the IAM®-Integrated Amrita Meditation Technique (IAM).
Popularly known as "The Hugging Saint," Amma is founder of Embracing the World®, a worldwide non-profit charitable organization that is an NGO with Special Consultative Status to the United Nations.
Vina has taught IAM to thousands of adults and youths across North America on Amma's tours. She has also taught meditation in her local community, and to inmates at Folsom Prison, U.S. Veterans at the Concord Veterans Center, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. In addition to teaching meditation, she serves as the Northern California Regional Coordinator. She also conducts annual instructor trainings to instructors across North and South America.
Mandala Painting Artist & Instructor
2008-date: Vina has been offering group Mandala, Chakra and Yantra Painting workshops. She completed the Mandala Painting Teacher Training with Paul Heussenstamm in Laguna Beach, California.
Workshop topics include:

- Yantras of the Planets, and More.
The Artist's Way: A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity
As a way to deepen my own understanding of the principles of The Artist's Way creativity course, I started facilitating it through various organizations to adults. I taught The Artist's Way 12-week course more than 30 times to between 2001-2020. I witnessed the transformation of hundreds of lives as we created a supportive community to awaken our creative spirit. Many came back to take the course multiple times with me.
The Artist's Way has led to me and my workshop participants to breakthroughs and opportunties we could not have possibly imagined.
Certified Yoga Instructor
2009-2012: Certified Advanced Yoga Teacher Training:
Having completed a 3-year training program with 500 Hours of Beginner and Advanced Yoga Teacher Training at the Mount Madonna Institute of Yoga, Vina teaches peace through yoga, breath and meditation.

Education & Background
Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Business Administration with a minor in Communication Studies at California State University, Sacramento.
With an international upbringing which spans India, Africa and the United States, Vina grew up winning competitions in sand mandala, art, dance, singing, drama and more. Vina teaches from a sacred perspective inclusive of traditions from both the East and West.
